Warp 9 Signs Licensing Agreement for Patent-Pending Mobile Technology
November 6, 2007 -- Santa Barbara, CA -- Warp 9, Inc. (OTCBB: WNYN), the premier provider of robust e-commerce platforms and services, announces the licensing of its patent-pending mobile technology on a non-exclusive basis to Zingerang Software.
Zingerang Software is a startup company founded by Michael Chuises, former Roaming Messenger Vice-President of Engineering. Prior to that, Mr. Chuises was the lead software engineer and architect for GoAmerica's (Nasdaq: GOAM) Go.Web wireless enterprise product.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Zingerang Software will, on a non-exclusive basis, license Warp 9's mobile technology and certain trademarks. Should Zingerang Software succeed in generating revenue, Warp 9 will receive royalties based on a percentage of gross sales. Warp 9 will retain ownership of the technology and trademarks. And, perhaps most importantly, Warp 9 will have ownership over any improvements and derivatives created by Zingerang Software.
"This agreement allows us to continue to enhance and augment our Intellectual Property portfolio while exploring other ways to otherwise license or leverage our mobile technology. Importantly, it allows us to do so in a manner that does not distract us from our current core focus of e-commerce and our execution of product development and sales in this product line where we derive the great majority of our revenue," said Harinder Dhillon, Warp 9's CEO.
