Warp 9 Blends Tech With Real

Santa Barbara-based tech company Warp 9 is dabbling in real estate.

The e-commerce provider recently launched an online magazine product with a special feature designed specifically for real estate advertisers. The ad includes an embedded movie function to give readers a virtual tour of the real estate listing.

The online magazine is available for journals that want to appear in an Internet setting, via a format that mimics the print version. It allows readers to flip through the pages as they would with a hard copy, but adds an interactive dimension that lets users click on advertisements, zoom into pictures and follow Web links.

For real estate, this means that when an ad is purchased with a print publication that chooses to go online, the copy can be enhanced to include multiple images, virtual tours and links to Web sites for the agent or property.

Destination Wine Country is the first Warp 9 client to utilize the technology, which features a Village Properties advertisement with a slideshow of the images for a wine country chateau and a link to the realtor's site.
