Warp 9 Powers Destination Wine Country's New E-commerce Site and Interactive Online Magazine
Virtual Magazine allows readers to turn pages back and forth just like a paper magazine
January 22, 2007 - Santa Barbara, CA - Warp 9, Inc. (OTCBB: WNYN), the premier provider of robust e-commerce platforms and services, today announces that client www.DestinationWineCountry.com has launched their new e-commerce website featuring a Virtual Magazine version of their print magazine that displays the magazine in a page by page format and allows readers to turn pages and linger over beautiful photographs and interesting articles profiling the wine regions of the American west.
Destination Wine Country's newly launched site, www.DestinationWineCountry.com, is a blend of wine country information and online shopping portal for luxury shopping and gift items associated with the respective wine regions. Readers can browse the magazine on-line and then purchase goods and services directly through the magazine. The online product mix found at www.DestinationWineCountry.com includes jewelry, fashion, spa products, home and garden decor, wine accessories, wine club memberships and wine.
The magazine's readership is a very upscale clientele and the quality of the articles and photographs in the magazine reflect this. The unique attributes and characteristics of a large format magazine lend themselves to lush photographs and well photographed advertising from high-end retailers. While some compromise is sometimes required to get the articles onto traditional online screen format, with Warp 9's new Virtual Magazine technology, the visitor to the site is able to experience the articles and advertising in their original grandeur.
Danny Burgner, Destination Wine Country's President, commented, "I love the look and feel of the new site with the integrated Virtual Magazine. The new Virtual Magazine technology that Warp 9 has developed is fantastic for our new site. Their knowledge and experience in the e-commerce arena is already well established and helped us immensely in getting up our e-commerce site in short order. We are able to offer the products in a fashion that does not compromise the artistic sense of the original creation. We are excited about this step up to the next level of online retailing."
Harinder Dhillon, Warp 9's CEO, commented, "Destination Wine Country is leading the way in blending magazine publishing with e-commerce and utilizing on-line and off-line channels to their respective strengths. Using these new technologies provides Destination Wine Country with a competitive advantage and their progressive approach has been great for testing new features as well -- such as embedding video into the Virtual Magazine pages. At Warp 9 we are excited about continuing to enhance current technologies such as our Virtual Magazine product, and we are looking forward rolling out new revenue enhancing technologies for the Internet commerce industry."
